The 2017-18 edition of our literary and visual arts magazine, The Dancing Star, has won the top award for Best of Category for Novelty Books in the 2019 Great Lakes Graphic Association (GLGA) Print Competition. The GLGA Graphics Excellence Awards are an annual regional print competition for three states – Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. The Dancing Star was entered by World Arts, Inc., the printing company Collins LLC works with to print our three student publications. An outstanding 12 out of 12 entries from World Arts won awards this year.
The Gutenberg, or the Best of Category, is given to the most outstanding entry in each category. The award is only given when there is a deserving entry, so not every category has a winner each year. The GLGA describes the winning entry as needing to be "flawless" to receive this award!
Congratulations to student editor Jessie Grubb, Arts Council staff advisor Yara Clüver, and the World Arts, Inc. printing team for this outstanding honor. And thank you to all of the Collinsites who contributed their work to the 2017-18 Dancing Star!
