Are you ready to join our diverse and welcoming Collins community? If so, you must apply through IU Housing. Housing applications for new students open in February 2026.
If you are interested in Collins LLC, we recommend making sure your housing application (including your learning community questions) is fully complete and submitted by May 4, 2026.
If you are new to IU and have decided that Collins is a good fit for you, select Collins Living-Learning Center as your number one Learning Community preference on your IU Housing application and make sure to answer the learning community questions in your application. The priority deadline to apply for placement at Collins LLC is May 4, though we will consider applications that come in after that date if we still have spaces available.
If you are a transfer student, you may not be able to select LLC or thematic communities on your Housing application. If you are interested in Collins LLC and unable to fill out the learning community section, please reach out to the Housing Office for guidance and to us directly (leidavis@iu.edu) for LLC application as needed for placement.
If you have already applied for housing and would like to change your preference to Collins LLC, you may still be able to log in to your application and update your preferences. Please refer to the IU Housing website for deadlines regarding application changes. It is helpful to notify us (leidavis@iu.edu) if you have updated Collins to be your first choice, or we may miss that update in the Housing system.
If you are not able to update your application in the IU Housing system, please send an email to housing@iu.edu and leidavis@iu.edu with your name and student ID number stating that Collins LLC is now your first preference.
If you are currently an IU student and want to join us at Collins LLC, the process is a little different. Our deadline for accepting applications from returning IU students for Collins for 2026-2027 is February 3, 2026. If you miss this deadline and are still interested in Collins, please reach out to us in September, after the fall semester has started, to see if placement is possible.
