Sports + Recreation

Sports + Recreation

The Director of Sports and Recreation is responsible for planning and executing activities related to sports, athletics, outdoor and indoor recreation. This includes campus intramural teams. Whether it’s basketball, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, or Battleship (played at the swimming pool in canoes) there is probably an intramural team for you! Teams are generally co-ed and compete with other teams from all over campus. Outdoor recreation events include camping trips, hiking excursions, rock climbing, and horseback riding.

The Director is also in charge of checking out a large collection of sports and rec equipment to any resident at Collins. Items included are listed below.

Contact the Director of Sports and Recreation for more information on checking out equipment or starting a Collins intramural team in the sport of your choosing.

Director, Sports and Recreation

Hello hello! My name is Alyssa, and I am a sophomore majoring in Game Design. This is my second year at Collins, and I am the coordinator of the one and only Smitchen, as well as the Director of Sports & Recreation!  Outside of class I love to rearrange my color-coded bookshelf, rewatch animated movies and shows, lurk in art fairs, and convince my friends that they want to play a three-hour board game. I'm also a huge fan of traditional animation and would love to talk art with just about anyone. You're likely to run into me at just about any Collins event, so if you see me feel free to reach out about anything, kitchen/sports-related or not!
