The Director of Student Life is responsible for planning and executing activities related to sports, athletics, outdoor and indoor recreation. This includes campus intramural teams. Whether it’s basketball, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, or Battleship (played at the swimming pool in canoes) there is probably an intramural team for you! Teams are generally co-ed and compete with other teams from all over campus. Outdoor recreation events include camping trips, hiking excursions, rock climbing, and horseback riding.

The Director is also in charge of checking out a large collection of sports and rec equipment to any resident at Collins. Items included are listed below.

The Director of Student Life shall oversee all residential health and wellness concerns, including physical and mental health plus student nutrition. Duties include attending all in-center Executive Board meetings and all major in-center programs and events. They shall regularly attend meetings held by the RHA Student Life Committee and the Meal Planning Committee. They shall serve as a liaison for residents toward health and wellness resources, such as the IU Health Center, CAPS, SACS, and Recreational Sports.
