Board of Educational Programming

Board of Educational Programming (BOEP)

BOEP is a student group that all Collinsites are welcome to join throughout the semester. We meet bi-weekly and fund and put on educational programs for the community, including informal conversations with faculty members around campus (like fireside chats and professor dinners), trivia nights, book discussions, short courses taught by other Collinsites, and more. We also publish The Pipe and the Barrow each year, Collins’ academic publication.

Additionally, BOEP is in charge of selecting the Collins courses. Each semester, BOEP receives many proposals for courses to evaluate and ultimately choose from. Since taking a Collins course is a residency requirement, BOEP takes great care in assessing each course that comes through us in a series of interviews and meetings. The process is entirely student-run, providing a great space to make your voice heard and to help assure that our courses will meet the needs and interests of Collinsites and provide a quality educational experience.

We're looking forward to selecting a whole new set of courses this semester and are always eager to have new members!

Hiya! My name is Hannah G. Gladden and I am a first-year student with a Political Science Major and a Spanish Minor. I serve as a Co-Chair of Collins' Board of Educational Programming. Outside of classes, I am also a member of the Marching Hundred and sometimes you can see me outside practicing the Clarinet.  If you have any questions or just want to chat, feel free to reach out. I am always excited to meet up in the Cheshire Café or just chat in the Tower Lounge.

Heyo!! I'm Aster, a sophomore majoring in International Law, Philosophy/Religious Studies, and Chinese, with a certificate in French!  I'm excited to be serving as a co-chair for BOEP with Hannah and I am happy to chat about pretty much anything. During those precious minutes where I am not studying, I enjoy working on my website, reading, running, learning K-Pop dances, making soup, and acting generally esoteric and incomprehensible! Don't feel afraid to say hi-- I'm typically lurking around somewhere around IU. 加油!
