At a ceremony and reception on Sunday, April 11, 2021, Collins Living-Learning Center Director Lara Kriegel congratulated the 29 Collins LLC members named Founders Scholars this year.
IU awards the most academically distinguished undergraduates the designation of Founders Scholar and honors them at an annual event, the IU Bloomington Honors Convocation. To be designated a Founders Scholar, an undergraduate degree-seeking student must have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.8 or above by the end of the fall term immediately preceding the Honors Convocation.
This year, the Honors Convocation was virtual but Collins LLC decided to hold a small in-person reception for students to recognize our Founders Scholars and celebrate the strong tradition of academics at the living-learning center. While rain kept us out of the courtyard, the students that were able to stop by the event joined staff in the Edmondson Formal Lounge for a brief ceremony and cookies to go. Congratulations to all of our outstanding scholars at Collins!
