Alyosha Gorshkov will be a scholar in residence this fall semester (first 8 weeks) at Collins Living-Learning Center, where he will teach a course (joint listed as REEI R-300) called "Russia Queer Politics and Gender Outlaws: Revolution or Devolution."
At Russia’s Perm State University, where he was an openly gay professor and activist, Gorshkov taught LGBTQ and gender studies. In 2014, he was forced to leave Russia after he was publicly ridiculed and threatened by conservatives and the law enforcement.
