Board of Senators

Board of Senators

The Collins Board of Senators (BOS) is the legislative body of the Collins Student Government. Any Collins resident can run to be a floor representative.

The Board of Senators have 3 main responsibilities:

  • It is the board responsible for allocating student government activity fee money by funding projects in the Collins community and approving student government chair and director budgets.
  • It serves as a forum in which student concerns can be heard and addressed.
  • It fulfills other legislative roles delegated to it by the Collins Constitution.

The Board of Senators meets every-other week on Sundays opposite of Executive Board (see calendar) in a Collins classroom. BOS meetings are open to all residents, but Senators or their proxies are the only ones who may vote.

Everyone who lives in a residence hall pays a student government activity fee and anyone at Collins may request funding from BOS to make use of that fee for their program ideas or floor improvements. Download the funding template below and fill out the required information. E-mail your completed template to VP Dylan Cardona at dycardon@iu.edu in advance of the next BOS meeting.

Hey! I’m Dylan, and I’m a sophomore! I’m majoring in Neuroscience and Spanish. This is my second year serving as Vice President of Internal Affairs, and I’m beyond thrilled. Besides Spanish, I’m currently studying Portuguese, French, and Italian, so please come to me if you’re taking those classes and need any help or just want someone to practice with! Some of my other hobbies include making music, traveling, reading, going to the gym, philosophy, debate & logic, and learning about other cultures. I care a lot about helping the community, and I’m looking forward to making this a great year for everyone!
