Smith Kitchen

The Smith Kitchen, or Smitchen as our students call it, is our well-equipped residence hall kitchen. It’s available to our residents for use.

Although tiny at 70 sq. ft., the Smitchen includes wrap-around stainless counters, a triple sink, a high-quality convection range, refrigerator, ventilation, and cookware. The Smitchen is open to all Collinsites by key checkout following a brief training session with our student kitchen manager.

The Smitchen renovation took place during summer 2013 thanks to financial contributions made by Residential Programs and Services, the College of Arts and Sciences, Collins residents, and then LLC director Carl Ipsen.

Welcome to Collins! I’m Fabiola, but Faby (FAH-Bee) works too. My pronouns are she/her. I am entering my sophomore year as a pre-med Clinical Psychology major, with a minor in Child and Adolescent Mental Health. I will be this year’s Smitchen Coordinator. I am usually at the library studying or swimming with the Swim Club. I may also be outside playing tennis. I watch a plethora of films and TV shows (if the film/tv show aired before 1980, I may not know it). I also love ice cream so you might see me at the Chesh a lot. I have a few years of experience with cooking, catering, and maintaining a kitchen so if you ever have questions about how to cook or where to start, anything mentioned above, or anything else—don’t be afraid to ask. I look forward to meeting everyone!
