- Flier: Make a flier and bring to duty office for stamp of approval and copying, or email it to cllc@indiana.edu for making copies. Turnaround time: 1-2 days.
- COLLINS COLUMNS (columns@indiana.edu): Put a note into the Collins Columns by midnight on the Saturday preceding the issue in which you want it to appear (comes out on Monday mornings). Images and ads should be saved as JPEGS! Word files should be saved as .DOC. or PDFs! Or submit hard copies in the Duty Office (by 5pm Friday – the office is closed over the weekend). No full page ads.
- GNOME NEWS (e-mail distribution list): Send an e-mail to gnomenws@indiana.edu (that’s gnome news without the “e” in “news”) with your event info to get your event in our weekly e-mail newsletter. Submissions should be 150 words or less and only for events taking place in Collins. Make sure you compose your message as you would like for it to appear. Deadline is Sundays by 5:00PM and will be emailed the following Mondays.
- USE SOCIAL MEDIA TO PROMOTE YOUR EVENT: Make an event using Facebook and add your event to the official Collins Living-Learning Center Facebook page: e-mail a link to the event page or a small blurb about the event to cllc@indiana.edu and it will be posted (make sure the event is set as public). Post about your event on your own Twitter or Instagram account (#collinsllc) or e-mail cllc@indiana.edu to have your post put on the Collins Twitter. DM the Collins Instagram account with your flyer to have it posted to our Instagram story.
- EMAIL INTEREST LIST: Send an email message to appropriate interest group list (compiled from applications to Collins) - lists available through the Student Services Assistant, Leigh, in the duty office.
- CONTACT Q CLASSES (ycluver@indiana.edu): During the first 8 weeks of classes, contact Yara Clüver so that she can contact Q instructors to notify their students of events in your area. You can also make arrangements with Q instructors to visit their classes to make an announcement in person.
- COLLINS DIGITAL ADVERTISEMENT: Create an ad of 25 words or fewer with file size 1375 x 925 pixels (horizontal/landscape orientation) at 72 dpi and save it as a .PNG or .JPG file. File name should include event title and date. Make sure you know the dates you would like for your ad to run. E-mail your ad to the Marketing Director and request that they submit it to RPS advertising on your behalf.

- BANNER IN FOYER: For special, large events you can request permission from Community Council to hang a banner for 24 hours in the Ed Foyer. You are responsible for making your own banner, but can request supplies through the duty office.
- TABLE SPINNER ADS: For special events you can request permission from Community Council and the Dining Manager to place ads in the table spinners in the Dining Hall. You are responsible for making your own ads and providing them to the Dining Hall staff. Ads can be up for seven days total.
- CHALKING IN THE COURTYARD: Request permission from Community Council to chalk on sidewalks to advertise your event. This is allowed only on cement walkways. No chalking within 30 feet of any building, on limestone, or anywhere on the steps or veranda. Chalk must be removed with water within 24 hours after the event is over. Chalk available through Duty office.
Promotion of events at Collins
Special advertising requests approved through Community Council (CC) – you need to fill out a Space Request form. Community Council meets weekly in the Coffeehouse; the time changes each semester.
