- Course Description
This class is the capstone seminar for the ACT Humanities Program. It is a hands-on exploration of how the arts and humanities have been used locally and globally to foster social change, connections, and development. The humanities encompass visual arts, theatre, literature, dance, and music together with civic organizations such as museums and libraries. We will draw from resources on IU’s campus and explore various organizations and local government. At the end of the class, students will work in groups to create a plan that reflects course learning, which addresses a need in their community.
