- Course Description
What is an old pair of trousers if no one is wearing them? In this class, we examine everyday goods to understand how trash is reused and how it may become art. This course has a theoretical and a practical component. We will explore the work of well-known artists. We will ask questions about sustainability and aesthetics. Additionally, this course will invite you to work with everyday materials to gain experience as a practitioner yourself. This course welcomes art students, but it is appropriate for students who are unfamiliar with art forms. Students will be expected to attend and participate regularly, and to challenge themselves in projects that meld theory with practice.
Instructor: Reinhold Ehgberding, visiting artist from Germany
