Call for Updates
Where have you been? What have you done? Let your fellow alumni know where the last year has taken you by emailing Collins’ Assistant Director Sarah Eaton. Updates will be included in the next newsletter and on the alumni section of the Collins website.

Help Keep Collins Elders
As you know, one thing that makes life at Collins so fulfilling is the presence of juniors and seniors, who can act as guides and friends to the newer Collinsites.
Often, these "elders" have a desire to stay on, but find it less expensive to rent apartments off campus.
Your donation will be added to a new fund (started at the alumni reunion this summer) that will offset the cost of housing at Collins for deserving juniors and seniors who have a financial need.

The Year So Far
It’s been a busy year at Collins, as always. Events have ranged from a Fireside Chat that answered the question “What is the universe made of?” to the Nutella Dance Fest at which local and international dance troupes performed and that chocolate-y nut butter everyone loves was celebrated. Collins residents have been planning and programming and getting involved at a breakneck pace, and our community is thriving.
At the end of October, we had the traditional Halloween dance, the theme of which was “Grim Fairy Tales,” and we hosted trick-or-treating and an incredibly elaborate haunted house.
Welcome Week’s theme revolved around The Princess Bride. All kinds of events ushered in the new residents and welcomed our returning students. A bonfire with a “quote-along” and corresponding performance was one particularly popular activity. We also helped build a trail at IU’s Research and Teaching preserve site at Moores Creek. Come on back to Collins for these special events:
Nov. 10, 8-9 p.m.: Attend Meg Cabot’s speech in Ed Formal. Meg is a Collins alumna and author of The Princess Diaries and many other books.
Nov. 22, 11 a.m.-?: Stop by the Invisible Children Benefit in the Coffeehouse and Dining Hall. Be sure to bring some books to donate!
Dec. 4, 5-7 p.m.: Come to the Dickens Dinner in the Dining Hall.
Dec. 4-5, 8-11 p.m.: See the latest Collins theatrical production: "Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead" in the Coffeehouse.
