Collins Living-Learning Center

Hey y'all! My name is Aster (they/them) and I'm a junior majoring in Religious Studies, Philosophy, and Chinese with a certificate in French Studies. My research specialty is in contemporary Chinese Buddhism, the interactions between religious institutions and communist states, and Asian new religious movements like Caodaism and Yiguandao. This is my third year at Collins and I hope to infuse the new generation of Collinsites with a love for the LLC! I served as co-chair for BOEP last year and I still like to haunt around the various councils. Outside of Collins, I'm a Cox Legacy Scholar for the East Asian Studies Center, a Student Ambassador for the Chinese Flagship Program, and the Conference Coordinator and USG for Crisis Committees for IU's Model UN Team; basically if I'm not in Collins, I'm certainly in the Chinese department in GISB. In my two seconds of free time, I like to work on my website, learning languages, learning about my genealogy, reading poetry, watching Drag Race, and acting generally strange and cryptic!
